BLACK STAR GATE

What an incredible honour! African Robots & SPACECRAFT, Team Dubship, were invited in August 2022 by the custodians of Black Star Gate, a monument on Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana, to install our Transportations Through Technology mega-poster, created with South African artist Loyiso Mkize.

Ghana’s black star in their flag is derived from Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line shipping company, as his writing inspired Kwame Nkrumah in his fight for independence for Ghana. Please see more about our project Dubship I – Black Starliner (2019 – 2022) using the links in the main menu above.

If you are in front of the poster right now, and used the QR code next to it to reach this webpage, then install the Dubship AR application on your phone using the button below, and point it at the poster to see an Augmented Reality artwork! If you want to try this at home, print out a copy of the star-graphic from this file, install the app, and point it at the star…

Here’s a list of Android phones that should work with the app: compatible phones.
